This subject comes from the project of TianJin Seamless Steel Pipe Plant. ln this paper, a monitor and control system is developed for seamless steel pipe production line based on industry ethernet technology. At the same time, communication network and hardware configuration are presented.Firstly, the present situation of monitor and control system for seamless steel pipe production is retrospected briefly and the process of development on this software is introduced in detail.Secondly, after analyzing and comparing several typical fieldBus control systems, the whole monitor scheme of this project based on industry ethernet technology is put out. The communication network which is made up of SIEMENS PROFIBUS-DP and industry ethernet are mainly discussed. The building process of network is detailed.Moreover, according to the analysis of the technical procedure, technical demand and requirement of users, by using configuration software WinCC which is included in SIEMENS PCS7, the human-machine interfaces are developed and logical control program are designed. The designed interfaces are friendly, visual and easily operated, so the ability of monitor and control is improved well.The system has been used successfully. It is meaningful for raising product quality and economic efficiency of industrial enterprises.
