This paper investigates the main steps involved in the inventory activities, based on the current situation of Chinese Inventory market and the chemical's specific management instruction and implementation. It tries to help readers to grasp the trend of Chinese inventory industry and to know how to configure the warehouse, forecast and set the reasonable inventory in order to run the company effectively.In nowadays, thousands of stuff are produced and enter the market in every minute. As it is become more difficult to get high profit by decreasing cost and increasing sale, our concern on logistics is becoming more than ever before. Therefore, the whole logistics industry flourishes, as well as the traditional transportation, inventory, E-commerce, the third/fourth logistics company and all kinds of logistics equipment vendors. All of us are paying attention to the same question: how to decrease the logistics cost, enhance the work efficiency and make it another new profit point. Let's take a quick look at the logistics' development. At the beginning, 2PL is based on inventory. Then, 3PL uses the information technology to manage the inventory. After that, internet is implemented to improve the inventory storage and transportation, i.e. 4PL and 5PL. During the development, the more information technology is used, the better service efficiency and quality of logistics are reached. The development of logistics makes a sharp contrast from paying more attention to the infrastructure than software. If logistics becomesthe bottle-neck of our economy, inventory management information is also the bottle-neck of the logistics development. This paper just tries to solve this problem. Taking Baogang Industry inventory business as an example, this paper tries to research and analyze this key and new problem.Chapter 1 describes the current situation and future development of Chinese inventory market and inventory industry. It also puts forward the criteria of inventory management implementation. Chapter 2 illustrates the flow of every module of inventory management system. Chapter 3 analyzes the key elements of inventory industry, based on the specific characteristic of chemical industry production and implementation. It sets up corresponding mathematic models, trying to find the equilibrium between inventory investment and customer services. Thus, minimizes inventory stock with the maximum of goods supply. In Chapter 4, the author designs IDEF model, E-R model and logistic database of inventory management system. It prepares well for the foundation of the database. Chapter 5 demonstrates the tools of system developing and the structural of system programming. It also explains the key implementation in detail and offers such functions as data inquiry, statistic and charting. At the end of the paper, the author makes a summary.The author believes that this paper would be of use to those who works in the industry and the decision maker.
