Image fusion is a modern high-tech that combines technologies such as sensors,image processing,signal processing,computer and artificial intelligence,and it is widely used in various fields.However,infrared images and visible images are two special sources of information in multi-source information.Therefore,research on the fusion of infrared and visible images has become a hot research topic in image processing.In the meantime,taking into account the portable and remote operational requirements of the image fusion system,this paper uses the high performance DaVinci series chip TMS320DM8168 from Texas Instruments(TI)as the main processor to study the key technologies of the embedded image fusion system platform.This paper first introduces the development of image fusion technology and embedded development platform.Then several common image fusion algorithms are introduced.At the same time,on the basis of wavelet transform,a wavelet transform image fusion algorithm based on image edge extraction is proposed.Then the hardware platform based on TMS320DM8168 chip is introduced briefly,and the software development environment of the corresponding platform is described.Finally,the transplantation and implementation of different fusion algorithms on the hardware platform are emphatically introduced.In the part of algorithm transplantation,two methods are adopted to transplant the algorithm.One is based on Linux,DVRRDK and McFW to build a framework for image fusion system platform.DM8168 contains four processors,of which,Video M3 core and VPSS M3 core are responsible for video capture display,compression coding,ARM Cortex-A8 core is responsible for peripheral control,DSP C674x core is responsible for running the image fusion algorithm.Another method is to design and realize the development framework of the integration system platform by transplanting OpenCV + Qt,which greatly reduces the difficulty of algorithm migration.Through the two methods,different fusion algorithms are ported to the hardware platform TMS320DM8168.In the end,a set of image fusion system with acquisition,transmission,integration and playback functions is realized.
