Image fusion technology is an important part of the multi-sensor informationfusion technology. It has a wide application in the area of the image processing. And italso has a great potential in many areas, for example, remote sensing survey, target’sdetection and tracking, medical treatment, meteorology and so on. In recent years, theimage fusion algorithm which is the theoretical basis of the image fusion technology hasbeen researched by international and domestic academics. Some research results havebeen achieved. By using the efficient image fusion algorithm to fuse the infrared imageand the vision image, the maximum information of the scene can be achieved.As the concrete application’s platform of the image fusion algorithm, the platformof the image fusion has many applications in engineering. Nevertheless, by utilizing thevision sensor to detect the scene, light will be shielded. In this case, vision sensor can beused to assist the vision sensor because it uses the infrared rays of the target to detectthe scene. So how to design the efficient platform of the image fusion will be animportant work in future.In this paper, for fusing the infrared image and the vision image in the real scene, anew algorithm based on the HIS is proposed. By utilizing the trigonometric transformmodel of the HIS to transform the RGB into IHS, the matrix can be achieved. Thenexchanging the I (the image brightness) component of the matrix and utilizing theinverse trigonometric transform model of the HIS to transform the HIS into RGB,another matrix can be achieved. And it can be used to restored the image.In this paper, another algorithm based on the extraction of moving object and theSWA is also proposed. By detecting the outline of the people in the infrared image toextract the moving object, the information of the moving object can be achieved. Thenby using weighted fusion algorithm based on the pixel-level to fuse the infrared imageand the vision image, the fusion image can be achieved.Finally, in this paper, the platform of the image fusion is discussed. Softwaredevelopment based on the image fusion algorithm, library of the MFC and machinevisual library of the OpenCV can be conducted. The interface of the dialog can bebuilded by utilizing the message mechanism of the MFC. And the image fusionalgorithm can be compiled by utilizing the rich image processing functions of the OpenCV. By calling the upper-layer interface, the fusion image can be displayed.
