Image fusion technology is the key and popular technology in the field of image processing technology.It has been widely used in civil and military fields.As the latest generation of Texas Instruments company,The high performance DaVinci-series chip TMS320DM8168 has been widely used in the field of video image processing.Based on TMS320DM8168 chip as the core processor,this paper makes a deep research on the technology of embedded image fusion system.This paper firstly introduces the image fusion technology,the DaVinci technology of Texas Instruments company and its development history and makes the comparison of the fusion system hardware platforms.Combining the overall goal and demand of the fusion system and the advantages of DaVinci technology,it completes the design of image fusion system,including the study of the core processor TMS320DM8168 functional structure and performance parameters.Then,according to the overall objectives and requirements,the board of image processing based on DM8168 chip has been developed including image processing board and the main interface resources,focusing on the design of the core circuit and the video input and output circuit of image processing board.Finally it makes a deep study of the system development environment including the platform structure,building environment and the Digital Video Recorder Research DevelopmentKit software framework detailedly including Link nodes and its internal structure.The Multi Channel FrameWork Software framework is builded by constructing the Link chains,and the algorithm Link is integrated into the main program chains to realize the function of video acquisition,processing and display,then the image fusion algorithm is researched and transplanted,and the algorithm is transplanted to the TMS320DM8168 image processing board to achieve different algorithms for video image processing.By analyzing the results of algorithm processing,the feasibility of the platform is verified.
