With the development of information technology, video surveillance systems have been widely used in various fields. Most of the traditional video surveillance is composed by a single camera and a connected computer, and this monitoring system often only has a narrow field of vision. In most cases, there is a blind spot monitoring and the monitoring results are mostly unsatisfactory. Moreover most of the traditional wide field video monitoring is based on a personal computer or a dedicated image processing board, it has many shortcomings, such as large volume, high-power and hidden poor.The wide field video surveillance system integrates the content of traditional multiple cameras monitoring, image stitching algorithm and uses digital image processing techniques to remove the overlap region of image. It outputs wide field video data stream, thereby greatly increases the scope of traditional video surveillance and reduces the appearance of dead space. Therefore, it becomes more and more popular. Meanwhile, the monitoring system based on embedded platforms, which has low cost, small size, low power consumption and good features hidden, overcomes the traditional video surveillance with multiple deficiencies.In this paper, Linux is the core operating system and the high-performance embedded devices SEED-DVS8168as a development platform, which is with TI’s latest TMS320DM8168as the core processor. It uses multiple data interface, which expanded by SEED-DVS8168platform, to collect two video and splices the scenes video.access to more than the double the single camera view panoramic video output display. Finally, it gets more than the single camera field of view and outputs doubling wide field video display. This thesis completed video pretreatment, video stitching, video compression and formed a new video stream to output display by utilizing the collaborative of processors in DM8168which integrates ARM processor, digital signal processing and image processing coprocessor. With the difference of traditional single-core video or heterogeneous multicore ARM+DSP video surveillance, This thesis divides the system into several sub-systems modular management, and distributes the various processes to the various subsystems from capture to display. It reduces the traditional stand-alone process monitoring computing load and greatly enhance the overall efficiency of the system. This article focuses on the research design of collaborative work between multiple systems, message communication, and data sharing mechanisms, while the synchronization problem for multi-channel image acquisition were considered. Compared with traditional video surveillance, wide field voide surveillance system provide a richer vision of space and visual content on the same screen, the owner a better user experience. Such wide field video surveillance system can be applied to safe driving in the car, a large hall monitor, intersection control, and many other areas of real estate introduce such a large scene for process monitoring and control requirements especially for higher monitoring sites using a wide field video surveillance, and has a low cost, low power consumption, high stability, advanced application features hidden, so it has a very good study and practical value.
