Research On The Phenomenon Of Cultural Feedback In Modern Family Media Literacy Education

Tremendous progress of the era is taking place in China right after the Reform and Opening policy,1978.It has set huge generation gap between the elders and the youngers.In the information age,the rapid development of digital and media technology brings the "digital gap",what make the generation gap deeper and deeper.All of those give rise to the attention to the problem in the intergenerational communication."Digital natives" conflict with "digital immigrants" almost every day under the same roof.What's more,social life has been redesigning by new media nowadays,including our minds and behavior.Therefore,promoting their media literacy become parents' best choice for keeping pace with the times.As a result,cultural reverse appeared in family media education.It not only helps family members promoting media literacy and understanding each other more clearly than before,but also reflects family relationship.This essay plans to discuss about how cultural reverse improving intergenerational relationship by remodeling family education in the perspective of family socialization.In order to achieving the aim,the research was carried out in questionnaire survey of 192 students from a media department in their first or fourth years,as well as their parents.Based on both qualitative conversation and quantitative analysis,microscopically analyzed the concrete process of family factors.Interview about family media live provides enough vivid lively story to supply the data,this research finds out that:Firstly,huge society discontinuity made generational fracture.The young generation,who has been deeply different from their parents,gradually take the role of the leader in modern society culture.The older generation's shortage in media technology change the media education situation in families.The difference in media literacy depends on the disparity of the two generation,and then turns to be the basic factor of media cultural reverse.The youth give the new media knowledge to their parents from family consumption life,equipment usage to media participation little by little.Parents' education background and social experience can also influence their attitude to accepting new things,what has impact on the effect on cultural reverse at the same time.Secondly,cultural reverse turned the family media education into bilateral interaction pattern,rather than the youth teaching the olds.Their progress together in media literacy reshape the family communication pattern,which became more conceptualized and socialized.Actually,cultural reverse changes the right of speech on media,but it has not overturn family's ethical pattern.So,the view taking it as destruction of traditional etiquette in Chinese family is totally without foundation.Lastly,the new family communication pattern living in the internet gives the two generation more chance to recognize each other from more aspects.Therefore,the generation gap can be weakened through new communication in media.By this way,intergenerational relationship will travel from symbiosis to consensus,and all the family members can keep their steps with modern society in the future.
