With the development of higher education, the scale of fixed assets they owned and used has a substantial increase, and constitution of institutions fixed assets becomes more and more complex. Therefore,an intelligent automation fixed assets management system is needed.Compared with bar code technology system,RFID could read tag information in harsh environments,as well as penetrate plastic,non-metallic and other materials,it also read fast and far away,at the same time,it can read a number of labels once,so,RFID technology management system could greatly increase the degree of automation, largely shorten the time of fixed assets inventory,as well as reduce the cost of manpower and material resources, and improve the management efficiency. This paper applies the RFID technology to design and implement the management of university fixed assets system.Firstly,it briefly introduces the current situation of RPED technology and the popular fixed management system in universities,as well as expounds the advantages of RFID-based fixed asset management system and the key technology of implementing the system.Secondly, this paper analyzes the requirements of RFID technology management system, designs the overall architecture and network architecture of the system, and layout each functional module and database structure. The fixed asset management system is designed and implemented in the PC side, and handheld and server-side software which based on WinCE embedded platform. Finally, the system function is tested. Results show that the design of the software system could meet the functional requirements.
