The quality of teachers is one of the key factors that affect the quality of education and even the development of education in the whole country.The professional development of teachers has become a hot issue in the field of educational theory research and educational practice.The continuous education of teachers is to improve the level of professional development of teachers.An important way to improve the overall quality of teachers.This study mainly uses the questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate the current needs of primary and secondary school teachers in Zengcheng District of Guangzhou.Through the analysis of the survey data,we understand the current situation of continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers in the area and their needs for participating in continuing education.To find out the existing problems and discuss the suggestions of improving the quality of the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers and improving the level of continuing education of local primary and secondary school teachers.The thesis is divided into five parts in structure.The first chapter is the introduction,which expounds the origin of the research,the purpose and significance of the research,the content and methods of the research,and defines the concepts related to the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers,and solidifies the research basis of the thesis.The second chapter is a literature review,which discusses and analyzes the relevant research status and achievements of continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers at home and abroad.The third chapter is the investigation and study,discusses the general situation of the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers in Guangzhou Zengcheng District,and uses the form of distribution questionnaire and interview to carry out a more in-depth and comprehensive investigation on the situation of the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers in the above areas,and through the collation of survey data,statistics combing out the basic situation,the status of participation in continuing education,the need for continuing education,opinions and suggestions for improving continuing education,etc.The fourth chapter is the problem discussion and the cause analysis,according to the investigation result analysis as well as the regional actual situation,probes into the current Guangzhou urban primary and secondary school teacher continuing Education existence question: 1.At the level of educational administration,the regulations are slightly lagging behind,the management of teacher training is insufficient,and the evaluation system of supervision and assessment is not perfect;2.At the curriculum level,insufficient attention is paid to the needs of teachers,the practicality of curriculum content is not high,and the rationality of time arrangement needs to be enhanced;3.At the individual level of teachers,the concept of lifelong learning is weak,the subject consciousness is missing,and the coordination ability needs to be strengthened.The fifth chapter aims at the problems and causes expounded in the fourth,according to the actual situation of the region,drawing on the advanced experience of the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers at home and abroad,three countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: 1.Education Administration Level: Improve the construction of rules and regulations,strengthen the management of training teachers,improve the evaluation and assessment mechanism;2.Curriculum level: Pay attention to the needs of teachers,improve the practicality of curriculum content,reasonable arrangement of course time;3.Individual level of teachers: to establish lifelong learning thought,enhancing subject consciousness,improving self-coordination ability.
