Purpose:To understand the status of postpartum returning nurses' work adaptation and elucidate the correlation between general demographic data,work stressors,psych-ological capital and job adaptation of postpartum returning nurses.To explore the related factors of the adaptation for postpartum nurses who return to work.In order to provide relevant reference for managers and help build a management system for postpartum returning nurses to adapt to their work.method:Method of convenient sampling was used in this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 200 postpartum returning nurses in class 3-A general hospitals in Northeast China.Questionnaires included general information questionnaire,work adjustment scale,psychological capital scale and Chinese nurse job stressor scale.The SPSS20.0 software was used to analysis the data after a double check.Descriptive analysis,t-test or ANOVA,Pearson correction analysis and multiple hierarchical regression analysis were used to analysis the adaptation status and its influenced factors.Results:1.A total of 246 questionnaires were sent out,210 questionnaires were collected,200 valid questionnaires were obtained,and the effective recovery rate was 81.3%.2.The mean score of the work adaptation scale was(4.33 ±0.44),the scores of each dimension were role behavior(4.33 ±0.48),task master(4.43 ±0.45),interpersonal relations(4.40 ±0.49),and cultural adaptation(4.17 ±0.66).3.The mean score of psychological capital scale was(4.96 ±0.63),and each dimen-sion were self-efficacy(4.97 ±0.78),hope(4.98 ±0.74),toughness(4.95 ±0.66)and optimism(4.92 ±0.65).4.The mean score of work stressor scale was(2.11 ±0.61),the score of nursing speci-alty and work problems were(2.49 ±0.71),time allocation and workload problems were(2.24 ±0.94),working environment and equipment problems were(1.81 ±0.82),patients' nursing problems were(2.27 ±0.64).Management and interpersonal proble-ms were(1.64 ±0.70).5.Results of t-test or ANOVA showed that the adaptation have significant differ-ences in the occupational title of nurse,birth order and job training.6.The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a negative corr-elation between work stressors and work adaptation,a positive correlation between psychological capital and work adaptation,and a negative correlation between work stressors and psychological capital.The correlation coefficients were-0.308 ?0.556?-0.153(P < 0.01).Nurses' age and time of working were positive corrected with their adaptation,the correlation coefficients were 0.225 and 0.313(P<0.01).7.The results of multivariate stratified regression showed that five variables,such as working years,birth order,pre-job training,management and interpersonal relationship and self-efficacy entered the regression equation,combined explained 48.4% of the dependent variable,and self-efficacy was the most important predictor.Conclusion:1.Postpartum returning nurses' work adaptation was at a medium level,among which the problem of cultural adaptation was the most prominent.It was suggested that nursing administrators should strengthen the propaganda of culture and create a good organizational atmosphere.2.Postpartum returning nurses' working years,birth order,pre-job training,management and interpersonal relationship,self-efficacy have important influence on their work adaptation.Therefore,nursing managers should take appropriate intervention measures to improve their level of work adaptation for postpartum nurses with short working years,first production,no pre-job training,sensitive interpersonal relationship and low self-efficacy.
