There are about 50 million people with dementia in the world today.Dementia will bring a heavy financial burden to families and society.In the low-and middle-income countries,the medical care system usually rarely considers dementia patients and their families.At present,the main way of providing care for the elderly with mental health in China is to support home care.When the disease continues to deteriorate,the elderly begin to have cognitive impairments.When the self-care ability is lost,the family members care will be overloaded.What is coming with it is the declining quality of life and the decreasing family happiness index.In the face of a large and growing group of demented elderly,the professional sanatorium suitable for the elderly is seriously lacking.The design of wellness landscape for the demented elderly is an effective way to improve the quality of life of the elderly and promote physical and mental health and it can bring certain social and economic benefits.This article will discuss the following three aspects:Based on the research results and related data on neuroscience,this paper analyzes the cognitive behaviors and psychological needs of the demented elderly and summarizes the old-age environment suitable for the needs of the demented elderly.This paper analyzes the status quo of landscape design and landscape rehabilitation of dementia for the elderly at home and abroad,and combines the field research data to build the design based on field research and theoretical research,and then gradually forms a theoretically supported system for landscape design of the demented elderly.;According to the physical and psychological needs of the demented elderly in different stages of the disease,the corresponding design strategy should be established.The wellness landscape design for the demented elderly should be based on the contact space provided to the patient,other people and the external environment,focusing on the emotional recovery of non-drug treatment and then creating an ideal old-age environment for the demented elderly who are adapted to different situations;The investigation finds that compared with other senior apartments,Xi'an Tianhe Senior Apartment has sufficient green space for design and renovation.Based on the local cultural background and the theoretical research results of neuroscience,the project establishes the pension system and rehabilitation environment for different demented old people..Different from other patients,old people with dementia are not only need a safer and more comfortable living environment,but also need to pay attention to a free,dignified and meaningful lifestyle.The purpose of this design is to enable the demented elderly to play around in the park like normal people.According to the different stages of the illness,the elderly can be divided into active areas that meet their needs,soothe their psychology and make the old people have a dignified and free life in their old age.
