Research On Sara Saka's "Growth Limit" Paradigm

Since the industrial revolution,with the accelerated evolution of civilization,the ecological environment has been deteriorating,increasingly threatening the survival and development of mankind.How to get rid of the ecological dilemma and build an ecological civilization is not only an inevitable requirement for the development of the international community,but also a severe problem for the construction of socialist ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics in the new era.In order to analyze the current ecological crisis,explore ways to solve ecological dilemma and build ecological civilization,theorists and thinkers from different countries have conducted extensive research and discussion on ecological problems,and formed a variety of research perspectives.Among them,the research paradigm of ecological socialism trend has its own characteristics.There are two basic research paradigms for the study of ecological problems in contemporary ecological socialism: the "limits of growth" paradigm represented by Sarkar and Benton and the "rational growth" paradigm represented by pepper,Grundmann and Forster.Sarah Sarkar is the poster child for the "limits of growth" paradigm.He based on the objective facts that Soviet model "socialism" collapsed,the capitalist countries faced serious ecological crisis,and radical environmentalism was struggling,used the Roman club " limits to growth" thoughts,"paradigm" and "paradigm shift" thoughts and the relation between man and nature of Marx and Engels as the tool,considered synthetically the resolution of global ecological crisis,the collapse of "socialism" and the socialist future and fate,formed a unique theory of " limits of growth " paradigm.This article mainly uses literature research,comparative analysis,theory with practice method to trace the origin,summarize the essence,comb the visa application of " limits of growth" paradigm of Sarkar.In addition,this paper objectively evaluates “limits of growth”paradigm of Sarkar from the standpoint of marxism.As far as the origin is concerned,"limit of growth" paradigm of Sarkar has both social background and theoretical basis.In essence,sarkar drew the limits of economic growth with the limitation of natural resources and ecological measures,and puts forward his own sustainable view.In terms of application,Sarkar analyzed the main reasons for the failure of the Soviet model of "socialism";Criticized the anti-ecologicalnature of capitalism and the ecological inefficiency of ecological capitalism;Constructed "radical ecological socialism" with "economic contraction" as the main characteristic.In terms of evaluation,the model of "limits of growth" of Sarkar is not only limited,but also full of profound value,which has important implications for the construction of ecological civilization of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
