Since the 1970s,western developed countries have been reflecting the relationship between human and nature profoundly and have been rationally criticizing capitalist industrial civilization. Ecological socialism, which is a social trend and political power, springs up on the background. As the product of contemporary western new socialist movements, this trend reflects human's thinking and hope for ecological crisis and many new problems caused by ecological crisis. Views, which are worthy of deep discussion and reference, are proposed. Theoretical insights of ecological socialism is similar, even the same with scientific socialism. However, views of ecological socialism and scientific socialism are different in the following aspects: the analysis of basic contradictions of capitalism; the choice of power, way, leadership and the main body strength for social transformation; the attitude towards ecological material ownership and basic description for the feature of future society; on the understanding of proletarian dictatorship. However, ecological socialism overemphasizes ecological problems. Even it puts ecological problems above everything. The result is that the basic contradictions of capitalism are weakened. Ecological socialism exposes its disadvantages in these aspects: uncovering drawbacks of capitalism, composing model for future socialism, the way to realize social change and the social forces for change. Therefore, attention and study for developing ecological socialism should be attached importance. Negative influence of ecological socialism should be rejected and its reasonable elements should be absorbed in order to serve socialist construction and sustainable development.
