As the fourth medium,the Internet plays an increasingly important role in economic activities and social life,especially in the vigorous development of the mobile Internet era,it is crucial to master the right to voice in cyberspace.Chinese Internet is the largest network with the largest number of users and the widest coverage area.Chinese Internet companies are an important carrier of Chinese Internet development and have gradually become the focus of the reports of international media.Therefore,it is important to understand the mainstream media of the center for the reporting methods and reporting characteristics of Chinese Internet companies.This paper analyzes the contents of the People's Daily and The New York Times' s reports from2008 to 2017 on Chinese Internet companies based on the media framework theory and Hofstede's five-dimensional cultural dimension theory.Besides,this paper studies the reporting themes and reporting frameworks of different media as well as the impact of cultural dimensions on the choice of media framework.Research analysis results: PDI has a positive correlation with the factual framework,the human interest framework,the responsibility framework,and the ethical framework.It has a negative correlation with the economic impact framework and the conflict framework,and has no obvious positive or negative correlation with the leader framework.LTO is directly proportional to the factual framework and inversely proportional to the human interest framework and accountability framework.UAI is negatively correlated with the factual framework and the responsibility framework.MDI is negatively correlated with the economic impact framework and the conflict framework.IDV is positively related to the conflict framework.People's Daily highlights the government discourse system,emphasizing the cooperation and win-win situation between traditional media and Internet companies,and the important goal of China's Internet enterprise development to ultimately serve the society.The New York Times highlights the Western elitist discourse system,which has built Chinese companies as a "replica" of US Internet elite culture,in contrast to Silicon Valley Culture.Using the American discourse system to influence the world elitism's perception of Chinese Internet companies,and thus realize the world media paradox that is beneficial to the United States.
