Research On The Factors Influencing The User Perception Of Internet Encyclopedia Information Quality

The online encyclopedia that gathers the wisdom of the public has become an important source of information in the information age,but users have never stopped questioning the entries quality.The existence of such doubts has limited the further promotion and development of online encyclopedias.Therefore,"how about the quality of online encyclopedia entries?" has become a common concern of online encyclopedia platforms and users.In the buyer's market environment,users become the ultimate judges of the terms quality,and only terms that meet user needs will be recognized.However,compared with objective information quality evaluation,users have more personal subjective feelings in the process of information quality evaluation.So,how do users evaluate the entries quality? This study explores this issue.This study uses contextual experiments to explore the process of users evaluation entries quality.The focus of the research is to explore the factors that affect the user's evaluation of the terms quality during the term use process,and how each factor works.During the research,the "SING! CHINA",a Baidu encyclopedia characteristic entry and its modified entry versions,were used as experimental materials to examine how factors such as the quality of term content,the quality of term descriptions,and user familiarity affect the user perceived entry quality.The results show that the content quality,description quality,and the user's familiarity with the topic of the entry will affect the user's evaluation of the entry quality.Among them,the entry content quality and description quality will directly affect the user's evaluation of the entry quality,user familiarity has a regulating role in the process of user evaluation of entry quality.On the whole,the entry content quality has the biggest impact on the user evaluation of the entry quality.In summary,both the entry factor and the user factor will affect the user's evaluation of the entry quality.Therefore,in the process of entry editing and entry quality evaluation,the entry characteristics and situational features should be considered comprehensively.It is necessary to take into account the breadth of entry quality content and the selectivity of user needs in different scenarios.
