A Study On The Media Image Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers

With the in-depth development of urbanization and industrialization in China,the new generation of migrant workers,represented by those born in the 1980 s and 1990 s,began to step onto the historical stage and play an important role in urban construction and development.This huge group has also attracted great attention from the government,the society and the media.As one of the authoritative mainstream media of the CPC central committee,People's Daily also pays close attention to this group.This paper explores the media image of the new generation of migrant workers constructed by People's Daily and evaluates it by combing the reports of the new generation of migrant workers in the past decade,so as to understand its advantages and disadvantages.Finally,from the perspective of media responsibility,this paper explores the feasible ways for the media to correctly shape the image of the new generation of migrant workers,and hopes that the public can put aside their prejudices and understand the objective and true image of the new generation of migrant workers,so that the group can better integrate into the city life and participate in the construction of society.The first part of this paper is the introduction,which briefly summarizes the research background,research significance,research status,research methods and concept definition of the new generation of migrant workers.The second part,from the perspective of frame theory,USES content analysis and text analysis to analyze the reports of the new generation of migrant workers in People's Daily as samples,and then carries out content analysis of the construction category.The third part is from the micro perspective,specific analysis of the People's Daily reported under the framework of new generation migrant workers reported media image,extracting new generation media image of migrant workers,the two aspects of learning skills to change destiny,have the courage to defend their rights,and actively participate in cultural activities of positive image and integration into the city,dating difficulties,be care for the weak image.The fourth part is the People's Daily's evaluation of the media image of the new generation of migrant workers.The advantages are that the report content is true and effective,the report sources are diversified,the report language is readable,and the report position is objective and humane.Thedisadvantage is that the report time distribution is concentrated,the new generation of migrant workers main role,the new generation of migrant workers image one-sided,label.The fifth part is based on the above analysis to draw a conclusion,reflect on the social responsibility that the media should assume in shaping the image of the new generation of migrant workers,and propose to improve the professional quality and social responsibility consciousness of the media;Media provide interactive opportunities to promote communication between different social strata and the new generation of migrant workers;Build the true image of the new generation of migrant workers,break the stereotype and promote social stability;Build a media re-education platform to improve the media literacy of the new generation of migrant workers;By publicizing the relevant national policies and mechanisms of the new generation of migrant workers and promoting the urbanization process,the media responsibility is constructed from five aspects,hoping to provide a new perspective for the mass media to build a more authentic and objective media image of the new generation of migrant workers.
