The year of 2019 marked the golden jubilee of the Internet's birth.Along with its development,the Internet has gradually begun to empower celebrities and fans,which has consequently altered celebrities' image construction that in the pre-Internet era was dominated by professional organizations such as artists agencies and traditional media.With the Internet promoting the power redistribution and the readjustment of relations among celebrities,fans,the media and professional institutions typified by stars agencies,a field of celebrities' image construction is being formed in the Internet era.As the main force of celebrity consumption,fans are participating actively in the construction of celebrities' images,and are gaining an increasingly big say in it.Besides,thanks to the rapid development of the entertainment and cultural industries,celebrities are becoming increasingly exposed to the public,and they to some extent look increasingly like brands that are built by performance.Therefore,it's both necessary and innovative to study fans' influence on celebrities' image construction.This research,theoretically based on Pierre Bourdieu's Field Theory,takes celebrities' image construction as a field,and adopts a few research methods including the virtual ethnographic research,in-depth interview,and text analysis to study fans' construction of celebrities' images in Microblog's Super Topic Community.The entire research is conducted under the framework and following the clue of “fans' interaction-image texts production-image construction”.The research first examines the structural characteristics of Microblog's Super Topic Community that serves as a star-fan interaction space,discusses fans' interacting habits in the community,and analyzes a large number of celebrity image-related texts produced by fans in their interactions.Next,the theory of encoding/decoding is employed to analyze the production and spread of celebrity image-related texts.When producing these texts,fans also merge into them their subjective opinions,personal feelings and emotions,thus participating in the construction of celebrities' images.At last,based on an analysis of celebrity image-related texts produced by fans,the research summarizes the strategies used byfans to participate in celebrities' image construction.Meanwhile,the research also analyzes problems in fans' participation in celebrities' image construction today,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures in order to promote the sound development of the fans culture.
