LCD(liquid crystal display)industry originated from the United States,then developed by Japan,then rose and surpassed by South Korea and Taiwan.In recent years,with the rapid development of panel industry in the mainland of China,the market share of mainland China regarding to the world market has also rapidly increased.With the successive production of the high generation line in mainland China,the panel production capacity and technology level have been steadily improved,and the industrial competitiveness has been gradually enhanced.The production capacity in mainland China has become the first in the world.LCD panel quality is the most critical parameter for LCD display,because it directly affects the picture quality.The LCD panel is the primary factor that affects the cost of LCD television.LCD panel determines the brightness,contrast,color,viewing angle and other key parameters of LCD.With the continuous expansion of LCD production capacity,each panel factory is constantly introducing new display technology to provide better picture quality display,so as to provide consumers with better viewing experience.HDR(high dynamic range)technology has become a market trend.It expands the brightness range of the display,shows more details of light and dark parts,brings richer colors and more vivid and natural details to the screen.HDR display technology is an upgrade to the quality of pixels.Compared with 4K resolution,the visual shock brought by HDR technology is more obvious.Regardless of the screen size and viewing distance,the effect of improving the image quality is obvious.In this thesis,we systematically studied the HDR through two methods: backlight dynamic dimming,LCD contrast and brightness optimization.The implementation framework and commonly used LED optimization methods are proposed for the backlight zoning research,focusing on the detailed experimental research of the latter,from the LCD panel design,process optimization,material optimization to improve the contrast and transmittance of the LCD panel.Four contrast improvement measures are summarized: HVA LC pretilt control,metal1 taper angle adjustment,array and color filter substrate alignment control,POL polarization optimization;three transmittance improvement schemes: 4 Domain pixel,DBS architecture,COA process design.The trial production and test of the samples have reached the expected specification and meet the mass production conditions.
