With the rapid development of display technology,liquid crystal display technol-ogy has the advantages of low power consumption,high resolution,long service life and high cost performance.It is a new generation of mainstream display technology after the traditional cathode ray tube display technology.However,the dynamic range and color gamut of the liquid crystal display device are limited,and it cannot satisfy the visual needs of the human eye,and cannot truly reproduce the rich natural scenes.In order to maximize the reproduction of natural scenes,people began to focus on display devices with high dynamic range(HDR)and wide color gamut(WCG)display capa-bilities,which has become the focus of research in the field of display technology.This paper studies and analyzes the basic principles and main implementation schemes of current HDR display technology and WCG display technology.For HDR display technology,the advantages and disadvantages of various common local dim-ming algorithms are compared,and a dimming algorithm based on luminance layering is proposed,which aims to display HDR images or video sources without distortion,and improve the display quality and visual experience;for wide color gamut display technology,the existing hardware implementation schemes are analyzed and compared,and white LED(WLED)and emerald LED(ELED)are selected as the backlight of the display system.On this basis,this paper designs a high dynamic range-wide color gamut display system based on dual screen structure.Firstly,according to the overall functional struc-ture of the system,the system is divided into five modules,and the hardware design scheme and main function realization of each module are introduced in detail.Secondly,in order to facilitate dynamic loading and debugging algorithms,a good human-com-puter interaction platform is designed,and the function settings of the system human-computer interaction platform are briefly introduced.Finally,based on the WE back-light array of the display system,a multi-primary color region dimming algorithm is proposed,and the principle and implementation of the algorithm are introduced in detail.Through the system's overall test and algorithm evaluation,the peak brightness of the display system achieved in this paper can be achieved1258cd/m~2,while the black brightness is lower than0.02cd/m~2.Its color gamut coverage is dynamically variable,with a maximum value of 45.65%.Compared with ordinary display devices,the dis-play system designed in this paper not only greatly improves the dynamic range,but also enhances the color gradation and definition of the terminal display,and its color performance capability has also been significantly improved,especially for the reap-pearance of cyan area color has obvious advantages.
