With the advancement of science and technology,the popularity of personal display products and people's attention to the protection of personal privacy,there is a strong market demand for wide and narrow viewing angle switching LCD.At present,the technology which realizes the wide and narrow viewing angle switch display not only increases the display thickness and cost,reduces the display quality of the conventional wide viewing angle,but also the anti-peek effect of the narrow viewing angle is not satisfactory.In this paper,based on the negative liquid crystal FFS display mode,the method of realizing wide and narrow viewing angle switching technology is only required to form a high pre-tilt angle(50 ° ~ 70 °)on the side of the color filter,the tilt angle of the negative liquid crystal is controlled by the voltage of the third electrode on the same side and the anchorage of the alignment film.When the voltage of the third electrode is small,the liquid crystal molecules can be anchored to have a high tilt angle and have a larger phase delay in the off-axis direction.The wide viewing angle when the third electrode is applied with a large voltage(4V ~ 6V),the vertical liquid crystal molecules of the negative electrode are arranged in a vertical from up to down direction with a low inclination angle and the light leakage in the dark state is reduced and contrast enhancement,with well wide viewing angle display mode.The experimental verification shows that the wide viewing angle can achieve above 85 °,the left-right angle is only about 40 °,the up-low angle is still 85 ° in narrow viewing,and horizontal direction has good symmetry.The technology has simple structure,flexible driving,good display effect and good application prospect in the anti-spy display field.
