Study On The Circle Phenomenon Of Wechat Group Of City Square Dance In China

Because of its low threshold and low cost of movement,and the advantages of community convenience,square dance has become the fitness method with the highest participation and the widest participation scope of the elderly female groups in China.With the popularization and adoption of new media technology among the elderly,many square dancers have joined various WeChat groups.How do the elderly square dancers in China show and interact with each other in the WeChat group? Has online group interaction realized the connection and expansion of social relationship networks? Has the use of social media by the elderly promoted community identification and social integration?In this paper,through the field observation method and interview method,three square dance groups in a community in a provincial capital city in central China are selected for research.The study found:1.The old-age square dance groups in China's cities belong to the "interest community".The square dance movement is a relationship link between group members in real life,while the WeChat group is the copy and migration of online identities in real geo-societies,and social relationships in real society The network was copied to the WeChat group;2.The square dancers have built their own social relationship network through WeChat group access,daily interactive rituals,information sharing and interpretation,offline communication,etc.,and have achieved social communication and emotional contact through new technologies.3.Due to the different social capital owned by the members of different square dance groups,the identity distinction between different groups is obvious.The identity distinction is reflected in the naming,venue,music,participation purpose of the square dance team.Therefore,as a marginal group in the political and economic structure and the use of the Internet,elderly square dancers can creatively use intermediary new media technology to actively solve the difficulties of social interaction.However,due to the stratification of the square dance groups,the formation of identity divisions,the existence of strict relationships and cultural barriers between different groups,new media technology is difficult to achieve social interaction across different groups.Due to the existence of social segmentation,the role of new media technology in expanding the social network of different groups is obviously different.
