The Discourse Analysis Of “Square Dance” News Reports In Guangzhou Daily

“As spring breeze comes at one night suddenly,one hundred million people jump square dance together.”“national fitness”has been mentioned on the agenda after the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing,and the square dance also has developed from the “mini-sports” into“national movement”,becomes a unique landscape in people's livelihood.As media,when reporting a particular event,they tend to be presented to the audience through "reconstructed"facts,due to the influence of the media context.Any media reports have their own specific meaning and standpoint,the actual events of media are “reconstructed" facts which are selected and created,so audience's understanding about media reports is naturally involved the shadow of "media ideology".As research method,Discourse analysis is the analysis of all text language and context,which enables us to grasp the media public standpoints and ideology from media reports.The discourse analysis of square dance can make us get the public standpoints and audience guide schema behind the media reports,explore how the media construct the image of "square dance",also help to deepen the audience's social cognition.This article attempts to use the discourse analysis tool to analyze the media reports about the square dance,to construct the schema of media coverage,as well as analysis the media public standpoints and the construction of discourse ideology and so on.In addition to the summary at the end of the article,body content is mainly composed of five parts:The first part is introduction,mainly introduces the research's background,object of this re-search,research's ideas and methods,research's framework,basic concepts and literature review of this article,so they can establish the theoretical basis for the article's basic situation.The second part is about media review and carding of the square dance media reports.The carding of the media reports will be discussed according to the amount of news,the theme orientation,the group image and the periodicity of news,in order to grasp all the information by quantitative analysis.The third part is the analysis of the news text of the square dance media coverage,mainly from syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations of the media coverage,narrative perspective and other aspects,in order to grasp the construction process of the media coverage of the news facts.The fourth part is to explore the imbalance in the media reports through the analysis of the news text,it will analysis the stigmatization,binary oppositions,positive public opinion guidance and loss of discourse of the square dance groups in the media reports.The fifth part is to research the strategy how to establish the news discourse of the square dance media coverage,it will discuss from the mainstream ideology construction of the square dance media coverage,the construction of discourse space for the square dance groups,the abidance of the Journalistic professionalism,and the adding of the depth in the news.
