When square dance becomes popular all around the squares in the city,it also becomes popular in rural area.The situation has provided a new place and pattern for the development of the daily interpersonal communication,which has been dimmed gradually with the development of urbanization of rural society,in which people are acquaintances or half acquaintances.Gong chang Town of Long xi County is a typical northwest town and its economy is backward relatively.However,there are even two or three places for the square dance in one village as the square dance becomes more and more popular and develops fast in recent years.Besides,various square dance will be performed to celebrate each festivities.There is no doubt that the square dance has changed the way of life in the town,and also provides topics for the villagers.From the perspective of communication,the present situation of square dance is reconstructing the manner of interpersonal communication in the town.And based on the popularity of the current square dance,it is observed that the model of interpersonal communication has changed in rural society.This thesis attempts to use the method of field survey to explore the status quo and process of interpersonal communication in rural square dance.Starting from the perspective of interpersonal communication,the author analyzed the existing data and literature review,and performed the participatory observation and in-depth interviews in square dance teams in Gong chang Town.The result showed that with the continuous development of urbanization,the life style has been changed,and the patterns of interpersonal communication had been transformed and tended to lower in frequency.The most traditional rural interpersonal communication,such as Active“stopping to chat” and none organized “chatting at the village”,are gradually reduced,and even disappear slowly.Nevertheless,new pattern of interpersonal communication was born and brought change to the rural society when the square dance became popular.
