Research On The Restoration Techniques Of Huang Pilie's Ancient Book

Huang Pilie is one of the most famous private collectors in the history of China.He devoted his whole life to the collection and research of ancient books and kept on collecting them.He played a role of connecting the past and the future,carrying forward the past and opening up the future in such aspects as bibliographic inscriptions and postscripts,edition emendation,origin examination and determination,ancient book publishing and dissemination of the collection culture,which can be said to be beneficial to scholars and benefactors.But in the past 200 years,the world has studied Huang's activities of collecting,proofreading,postscript and publishing books.The study of Huang's postscript is the most popular,but it has not been concerned that he is also outstanding in the restoration of ancient books.His ideas and techniques of book protection and repair have never been specially studied."HuangZhuang",the restoration and binding form of ancient books named after Huang Pilie,is the unique binding form in Huang Pilie's restoration of ancient books or all his restored ancient books are all the names of "HuangZhuang".The concept is unclear and there is no conclusion.In the records of predecessors,"HuangZhuang" is basically inclined to a unique form in the restoration of ancient books,and there is no pattern record about the specific form of "HuangZhuang".The author has studied ancient books restoration for more than six years.He has been a teacher for three years.His tutor led his classmates to visitBeijing,Shanghai,Guangdong and Nanjing to study.In 2019,the author also recorded a teaching experience program of ancient books restoration in the column of Good Morning Shandong.Until now,his tutor is still leading his classmates to study the protection of Huang Pilie's ancient books.This paper only studies the "HuangZhuang" part of Huang Pilie's book cultivation and Book protection.The author will carefully study Huang Pilie's collection of books and postscripts,on the basis of being familiar with the materials,integrate the relevant literature and materials,focus on the analysis of Huang Pilie's collection of books and postscripts about the information records of ancient books restoration,sort out the real records of Huang Pilie's collection of books and postscripts and demonstrate the real objects of "HuangZhuang",and summarize the characteristics of "HuangZhuang" in his own restoration practice.In the investigation,it is found that not all the ancient books repaired by Huang Pilie are of the style of "HuangZhuang",and "HuangZhuang" is only one of the unique forms of the ancient books repaired by Huang Pilie.This paper attempts to discuss what is "HuangZhuang" through the nine kinds of "HuangZhuang" we have seen;three kinds of inner page styles of "HuangZhuang" binding form;the characteristics of "HuangZhuang";the embodiment of Huang Pilie's restoration concept in the "HuangZhuang" form,and the guidance of "HuangZhuang" form to his practice.In order to make a comprehensive and fair evaluation of "HuangZhuang",we hope that "HuangZhuang",as a form of ancient book binding,can provide us with reference and Enlightenment in the restoration concept and restoration techniques for the restoration of contemporary ancient books.
