Management System Of Ancient Books Restoration Archives Based On Knowledge Management

For so long, the protection and restoration of ancient books lags behind otherindustry’s progress. It’s a pity that so many ancient books are still abroad, the mostsevere thing is that the ancient books collected in China are being broken seriously.So many ancient books can’t be restored on time cause of the extraordinary lack ofprofessionals. Meanwhile the management and the restoration of ancient books arealways divided, thus the long-time plan can’t be made. Cause of no clear record of thebroken situation,what we can see is the hash rescue for some kinds of very preciousancient books, other kinds of books are still there being broken and nobody cares.Recent years, the government is paying more and more attention to theprotection and restoration of ancient books, many public documents have beenpromulgated.‘The protection plan of Chinese Ancient Books’ has been launched andmany training courses have been hold by the National Library. During the practice ofrestoration, the masters of the restoration have been paying more attention to theancient books restoration archives. The good archives will record the most usefulinformation of ancient books restoration. The information is very important for thesecond restoration and the new restoration workers.This paper focused on the combination of ancient books restoration archivesand the technology of computer. I designed and developed the Management Systemof Ancient Books Restoration Archives based on B/S model. During the design of thissystem, I combined the computer technology and knowledge management theory andprecisely followed the procedure of the restoration in the usual work. I redesign thecontent of the archives and added more attributes referenced to the standard of theindustry. The system has highly improved the efficiency of the management ofancient books and the production of ancient books restoration archives.
