The increasing commercializationof books and book design make people pay more attention to the book covers to achieve the effect of advertising, but doing like this will cause people to ignore the overall design, reading comfort and other areas. On the other hand, in multicultural societies under the new context, many foreign visual language gradually make prominent effect on the chinese modern Book Binding Design, and the Chinese books shape is losing the national characteristic.In the meantime, many outstanding designers who take up the ideology of traditional Chinese book design——air of cultivated refinement——create moden oriental beauty with overall beauty and reading interesting.Chinese books from ancient times to the present have multiple forms, such as scroll binding, butterfly-fold binding, wrapped-ridge binding, stabbed binding of Ming Dynasty and so on. These different shapes formed particular visual looks which have no image, easy composition and tripping artistic conception. These books design, which includes oriental aesthetic taste and proves the artistic conceptionracial of the chinese nation, make the books translate from only books to artistic works and form unique Chinese Book Binding Design taste——air of cultivated refinement.In view of the global, tasteing "air of cultivated refinement" again is not only takeing examples from ancient books design, but also reflecting connotation, elegance and overall artistic conception. The most import of all, the medium of culture,which is the materialized form of book design, is an important way of heritage of national spirit.The refactoring of moden "air of cultivated refinement" will use this way to continue writing Chinese culture skeleton, and at the same time can not make morden design wither because of losing intrinsic tendon and vessel.
