Education is the primary goal and function of modern museums,and is highly regarded by museum practitioners and audiences.As the birthplace of "Zhou,Qin and Han Dynasties",Xi'an has a rich cultural relics and a reputation as a museum capital.With the rapid development of the museums in Xi'an,the museum education has achieved a series of achievements,many representative educational projects have won national awards.At the same time,facing the increasing demand for Museum education,there is still room for improvement of museum education ability in Xi'an.By investigating the current situation of museum education in Xi'an,the shortcomings of museum education are summarized,it mainly includes the deviation of educational concepts,the need to strengthen the construction of social education teams,the further exploration of educational content,the imbalance of educational channels and the incomplete feedback of audience information.These problems restrict the effective functioning of museum education functions.The improvement of museum education ability needs the cooperation of all departments in the museum.Through statistics and analysis of the education status of 10 museums in Xi'an,the reasons for the above problems include the fragmentation of Museum business,the single structure of education team,and the insufficient transformation of research results,the diversification of educational approaches is not enough and the feedback mechanism of audience information is not perfect.Museum education is not only the responsibility of social and educational departments,but also the primary goal of museums.All professional departments should be regarded as an integral part of education.Collections,research,exhibition and literary creation departments should give full play to their advantages and serve Museum education.In the process of museum education practice,it should be made clear that museum education is not a single individual,but a system composed of multiple elements.Museums should pay attention to the whole process of education implementation,focus on the internal relationship of education in museums,and establish a holistic view of Museum education.By introducing the theory of ecosystem and education,this paper attempts to construct a museum education ecosystem.Its system elements include educational goals,education implementers,educational content,educational methods and approaches,educatees,etc.,relying on the museum education ecosystem,combined with the Xi'an Museum "Changan Story" education case,this paper explores the countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the educational ability of museums in Xi'an in order to play the role of museum education better and serve the development of society.
