Over the past two decades,audio and video technologies have developed rapidly.Some old low-resolution,low-refresh rate analog signal audio and video resources and interfaces have gradually been eliminated from the market.Among them,High Definition Multimedia Interface(High Definition Multimedia Interface,HDMI)can transmit higher quality video and audio,which has the advantages of plug and play,high resolution,and simultaneous transmission of audio and video.It occupies an important role in the all-digital interface At present,the cumulative global shipments have reached 8 billion pieces.In the HDMI interface protocol,data transmission between the source and the terminal should use data packets of the same format.Therefore,the encoding and decoding of data is a very important link.At the same time,different encoding methods will be specified in different versions.The receiver decoder designed in this article needs to be compatible with both the HDMI 1.4b version and the HDMI 2.0 version.Therefore,after comparing and studying the similarities and differences between the two versions of data encoding,the corresponding decoding mode is obtained.And in order to deal with the misalignment that occurs during data transmission,a word alignment module and a byte alignment module are designed.After the data alignment is completed,the decoding modules are designed for HDMI1.4b and HDMI2.0 respectively.Each module uses Verilog HDL to write the code.The verification platform of each module is built using System Verilog language,and VCS simulation software is used.It uses randomized verification strategy to verify each module.After verification,the alignment module can handle misaligned data and error data during transmission and the decoding module can correctly decode HDMI 1.4b version data and HDMI 2.0 version data.The design of the entire receiver can meet the protocol requirements.
