In this paper, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) IP Core--HDMI transmitter is fabricated applying 0.13um CMOS process, for it is a digital and analog mixed-design project, according to the need for functional verification, with the main verification methodology, this thesis puts forward the idea of layered verification. According to this idea for verification, the method of dynamic verification, which includes the method of function-driven simulation and the method of coverage-driven verification, is used to verify the transmitter of HDMI.According to the idea of layered verification, combined with the method of dynamic verification, in this thesis, there are several aspects of verification work needed to do with HDMI transmitter as follows:1. Module level verification: The method of function-driven simulation is used to verify the function for this level. In this thesis, direct stimulus and random input data are added to the four kinds of coding mode of Multi Encoder to do functional verification. The result demonstrates that the input data are encoded by the multi encoder absolutely correct, and it covers all kinds of coding mode.2. Subsystem level verification: The method of coverage-driven verification is used to verify the code coverage for HDMI Data Path. With the help of analyzing the code coverage reports, developing new test cases and updating code, about more than 180 test cases are developed in all. The final Result shows that line coverage reaches 100%, condition coverage reaches 96.15%, and FSM coverage reaches 100%.3. System level verification: The method of function-driven simulation is used to verify whether the data is transmitted correctly during the digital-analog signal interactive communication. As the HDMI transmitter is a digital and analog mixed-design circuit, which is on a large scale, and there is a very long simulation time (about 5.4ms), a method of accelerating simulation, which is named restarting the analog circuit during simulation, is put forward in the thesis. Relative to those without using any accelerated method for mix-simulation, simulation time is reduced about 94.24% by adopting this means. The final result of verification shows that the digital output and analog output are entirely coincident.
