E-commerce and online shopping are undoubtedly growing in popularity in many countries all over the world and they can be considered as the future of global economy.Additionally,the development of technology allows online platforms to work more efficiently,safely and reach out to the consumers for which some of the goods may not necessarily be easily available.As the e-commerce in Poland is growing rapidly and it is not yet fully mature,this paper aims to highlight the current situation on Polish e-commerce market,point out the crucial factors for its development,data and focus on analysis of two case studies – Allegro and Aliexpress.Allegro is one of the first e-commerce platforms existing on Polish e-commerce market.Even though Allegro has gone through many changes,it has a long tradition and a very strong position on the market,to that extend that so far it has not been dominated by worldwide dominants – Amazon and e Bay.However,this situation may not remain the same in the nearest future,as a Chinese company Aliexpress is quickly growing in its popularity attracting with extremely competitive prices.The future of Aliexpress depends on the development of the platform and Chinese entrepreneurs who run shops online and sell them to the European customers.Both companies have their advantages and disadvantages,which may significantly affect their future success.Therefore,the case study analysis helps to point out the competitive features of both platforms,the similarities and differences between them.What is more,thanks to the questionnaire conducted among Polish customers,a close insight on these two platforms may be provided.The study of two very significant e-commerce companies can highlight the problems that still exist on Polish e-commerce market and may help to improve and show the direction of the future development.As it was mentioned before,the e-commerce is continuously developing,so it is crucial to analyse the changes regularly,follow the latest trends and have and access to the up to date information.
