Back to Field is a new slow variety show launched by Hunan Satellite TV in recent years,which is loved and praised by the audience.Different from the regular variety show,Back to Field is dedicated to creating a life variety show with the theme of returning to garden and living.Once it is launched,it is highly recognized and widely praised by the society.Therefore,Back to Field is worthy of further study and discussion.In the past research on variety shows,part of the research is on the brand image of a show or on innovation,and part of the research is on mass culture.It can be seen that the previous research concept is more focused on the program itself,rarely introducing cutting-edge theory,and the overall research direction is conservative.Relying on the theory of “ritual view of communications” proposed by the famous American scholar James Carey,this paper studied the video and textual materials of Back to Field to explore new thoughts and methods for television programme transformation,the transmission creativity,cultural connotation,put forward the "non-entertainment" nature of the program,and the enlightenment of TV programme innovation reflected in this show was in this show was analyzed from many aspects,including share symbols,ritual representations and ritual communications value and innovation.Finally,it explores how the promotion of audience status has a positive effect on the success of a program,and provides a reference for the innovation and development of the program of the variety show.The article is divided into five parts.The foreword introduces the background,research problems,literature review and research methods;The first chapter describes the basic situation of the program "Back to Field" and combined with the theory of ritual view of communications,in order to explore rationality.The second chapter takes "Back to Field" as the research object,analyzes the symbolic meaning and representation of ritualization of program communication.The third chapter explores the innovation of ritualization in the program of Back to Field;The fourth chapter is the research inspiration of the program "Back to Field",exploring the defects of slow variety show and the sublimation of "ritualization" to emotional transmission and identity and analyzing the beneficial effects of audience status on the program.
