"Slow" Or "Free":Discrimination Of The Form Of "Slow Variety Show"

Based on relevant theories of TV program forms,this paper analyzed and explored the "Slow Variety Show" and proposed the concept of "Free Variety Show" creatively.Furthermore the graduation work "Hello Free Life" was completed based on the features of related program form.In chapter one introduction part,it proposed questions,sorted out related literatures and analyzed the research value and significance.In chapter two,it presented existed problems in "Slow Variety Show" and distinguished the form by four aspects: culture,narrative,function and communication.It is considered that "Slow Variety Show" is a creative “concept” proposed by Hunan TV for attracting audience,increasing ratings and achieving variety show market segment under the background of competitive same-subject variety shows flooding the market with generations of development and audiences' aesthetic fatigue for them(also known as "Fast Variety Shows",which was born to satisfy the requirements of market,barely a commercial stunt.In chapter three,it starts with the origin of "Free Variety Show",considering the format is an arrangement and combination of various elements to achieve entertainment function for programs and bringing aesthetic experience for "being pleasant for ears and eyes","joyful for heart and mind" and "obtaining a cheerful spirit" with clear positioning,stable structure,diversified models,innovative development and other morphological features.In chapter four,it interpreted the form and content of the author's graduation work "Hello Free Life" on the basis of the above-mentioned theoretical research,and discussed the "Free Life" in "Free Variety Show".
