In recent years,with the proliferation of fast-paced,conflict-intensive fast variety shows,the development of the variety market has entered a bottleneck period,and the audience has begun to develop aesthetic fatigue.A series of policies,which are used to regulate the variety market and resist the pan-entertainment of the variety market,have been released by the National Radio and Television Administration.In such a policy and market environment,slow variety shows came into being.The core value of slow variety is to form a rhetorical vision of "slow life" and to influence people's understanding of real life through media images.The emergence of slow variety shows highly comforms to the current public's desire for "slow life",which is gripped by anxiety.Meanwhile,it also infuses new creative ideas into the reform of the variety market,and forms a very intrinsic communication picture for the media,society and the public.At the very beginning of this paper,it elaborates the connotation of "slow life" from the philosophical and the social level.On this basis,the research is introduced into the review of the development of slow variety shows.First of all,the emergence of slow variety shows is not an overnight success,and there is a gradual evolution process in the form of the show and the concept of creation.At present,slow variety shows generally include cultural slow variety shows and life slow variety shows,and there is a symbiotic relationship between slow variety shows and fast variety shows.Second,through the analysis of the domestic three phenomenal slow variety shows,it is concluded that the slow variety show presents a convergent program theme,the "showcase" symbol carrier,three-dimensional medium of expression and the characteristics of native commercial information,and it is these program characteristics that shape the value construction and expression path of slow variety shows.Furthermore,from the standpoint of audience interpretation,this article explores that,at a deeper logical level,slow variety shows can promote value recognition between the program and the audience by presenting defamiliarization in daily life,strengthens human symbols to highlight identity,slow-paced narratives leave the audience blank,and presenting humanistic care through slow narration.Finally,some problems in the development of slow variety shows are analyzed,which make slow variety shows "slow but not slow".For example the conflicting marketing of programs,blind follow-up,the popular searching constitution and the excessive overflow of meaning of the programs all affect the value construction and expression of slow variety shows.Based on this,some improvement ideas are put forward for the future development of the slow variety show.We can promote the slow variety show to have better value expression and thus better value interact with markets,the public,and society by optimizing the guest allocation,deepening the program content,controlling the marketing density,and extending the industrial chain,etc..
