Research On The Academic Development Of Chinese Sports And Leisure Based On Bibliometrics

With the demand for and attention on sports and leisure growing in recent years,it has become a hot topic of research.However,so far,people are little research on the academic characteristics in this field.This study aims to sort out and describe the academic development in this field through Bibliometrics,to provide support to the academic studies by clarifying the development of sports and leisure,the evolution of the discipline,the distribution of research highlights and the possible direction in the coming.Relevant research papers published in the 20 years of 1999-2018 are retrieved from CNKI Database.Based on the statistics of the number of papers,publications,authors,citations and key words,visual analysis as well as typical Bibliometrics methods such as Bradford's law,Lotka's law,keyword analysis and citation analysis are applied.The basic characteristics of sports and leisure academic research in China are as follows:(1)According to the distribution of literatures,the general trend remains increasing,and the number has been growing rapidly in recent years.(2)According to the analysis of the source periodicals,the academic literature of sports and leisure has both centralized area and decentralized area,but the core effect is weak,and the journals are scattered.Most of the literatures are from sports and university journals,and studies on tourism geography,economy and culture are few.(3)By analyzing the author group of sports and leisure,it is found that the author distribution can conform to the Lotka model,and the author group is basically formed,but the number of high-yield core authors is relatively small,and the degree of co-authorship is not high.University researchers are the main force of sports and leisure research in China and the cooperation between researchers with university background is deep.(4)Through Cite Space's analysis of the keywords of sports and leisure papers in the past 20 years,it is found that the research focuses of sports and leisure include five aspects: the research on sports and leisure of college students,the development of sports and leisure,the development and construction of sports and leisure characteristic town,sports and leisure vs.athletic sports,the integration of sports and leisure and Tourism industry.(5)From the citation analysis,it is found that the number of sports and leisure citations is increasing year by year,but the language and type of citations fall in small kinds.Major types of citations are journals,books and dissertations,with Chinese as the main language and few references in foreign languages.Through research,we find that there are still some problems in China's sports and leisure academic research:(1)the amount of publications in sports and leisure literature is increasing,and it is expected that the number of publications will reach a new high;(2)the distribution of sports and leisure journals is too wide,The type is relatively single,and the quality of the journals to be improved needs to be improved;(3)The author group is initially formed but unstable,the number of active authors is low,and the number of interdisciplinary exchanges and cooperation is too small;(4)The sports and leisure research hotspots are scattered,and the five hotspots run through the research process;5)The amount of citations and citations has increased year by year,but the citation language and citation type are relatively single;(6)academic irregularities still exist,and less pioneering and quantitative research.This article puts forward the suggestions for research and development of sports and leisure academic research in our country through research:(1)improving sports and leisure theoretical research and increasing investment in sports and leisure scientific research;(2)strengthening the training of sports and leisure research teams and improving the quality of academic research;(3)Strengthen domestic and foreign cooperation,upgrade research methods,and align with international standards;(4)Pay attention to social hotspots,respond to major national needs,and promote discipline development.The main innovations of this article are:(1)focus on hot issues,the booming development of sports and leisure activities and related industries in recent years,and the lack of support from the academic community for sports and leisure academic research to practical development;(2)the use of quantitative analysis techniques This article takes bibliometrics as the main research method to describe the development of sports and leisure academic development in a more systematic and clear context;(3)adopts interdisciplinary research methods and uses library and information science research methods to study the academic development of sports and leisure field academic research.On the basis of basic research tools such as Excel and Excel,the big data retrieval function of China Howmet was used to classify and retrieve the papers,and the citation data of the papers were collected to establish a secondary database for analysis.After converting the data downloaded from China Howmet,it was imported into the more advanced visual scientific knowledge map tool Cite Space for co-word analysis.The research in this article will promote the rapid development of leisure practice and academic research in China.
