Study On The Leisure Value Of Independent Bookstores As Public Spaces

Independent bookstore is a private entity bookstore that maintains its own independent form,independent character and independent operations,emphasizing the humanistic nature.With the advent of the leisure era and the rapid development of the Internet economy,the cultural significance of independent bookstores as traditional bookstore is gradually being surpassed as the leisure value of public space.Leisure means getting rid of the shackles of daily stress and gaining the relaxation and satisfaction of the mind,and it has become a universal way of life.The occurrence of leisure needs some necessary external conditions which independent bookstores and other public spaces provide for leisure participation and leisure experience.In the article,firstly,the existing research on public space is sorted out and summarized,and the relationship between public space and private space is grasped.Secondly,clarify the concept of leisure value in the broad and narrow sense,point out four leisure value of public space:Leisure experience,Return to the true self;Identity construction and Social identity;Openness to leisure.Thirdly,elaborates on why independent bookstore reflects a new humanistic value of public leisure space,to summarize the unique leisure value of independent bookstores:Deep cultural leisure experience,Free spirit,Cultivation of creative thinking and Leisure values.Finally,through the empirical research on some independent bookstores in Hangzhou to understand the present situation and existing problems of the actual leisure value of independent bookstores,and puts forward some suggestions on its future development path.
