The Communication Analysis Of Online Self-made Variety Shows From The Perspective Of Consumer Culture

In contemporary China,the Internet platform has become one of the most important channels for the general public to watch various programs such as movies,TV series,and variety shows.Under this circumstances,online self-made variety shows as consumer products are in the ascendant.After more than ten years of development,they are more focused on user needs and get a relatively stable audience,gradually leading a viewing boom.From the perspective of consumer culture,having taken the self-made variety shows of the three major video websites of Tencent,Youku,and i Qiyi as the main cases,this thesis studies the development process,main part,content,and effect of self-made variety shows on the internet by observation.This study believes that user needs determine the grades of the programs,but if blindly catering to that,they would not last so long.In order to gain user recognition,the program should shoulder the responsibility of communication.In the supervision of self-disciplines and other policies,the platforms should seek balance among the artistry of programs,values,and commercial interests.Therefore,with playing an entertaining role and pursuing the success of commerce,the variety shows should be both enlightening and entertaining and convey right values.Based on the present and looking forward to the future,online self-made variety shows should eliminate the hidden troubles behind theprosperous appearance of program transmission,avoid the status of program homogenization and blowout development,follow the road of professionalization,decentralization and vertical development,and promote its health with new measures.
