In recent years,with the rapid development of the Internet and video websites,traditional TV variety shows can no longer meet the needs of the audience,whereas the online variety shows had a rapid growth,which gradually exceeded the TV variety shows in terms of quality.In the past,Chinese variety shows had been in the stage of purchasing foreign Copyrights for a very long time,lacking originality.Now,whether it s TV variety shows or online variety shows,originality has become a"business card" of variety shows.In 2007,China s first original online talk show was born,which had opened up the market of online original variety shows.After years of development,the online talk show is much more maturer,shows like iQIYI's "I Can I BiBi”,Tencent's”Roast”and Youku s "Mars Intelligence Agency" and others not only had very high popularity,but also quickly became the talk after dinner.Different from traditional TV talk shows,the distinctive host style,diverse topic setting,strong entertainment value and even the "bullet screen" setting of "Roast" meet the taste of young people exactly.As a source of happiness,this kind of shows can release their pressure from the fast-paced life.By taking the 30 episodes of "Roast" as a case study,this paper gives a detailed analysis from five aspects,which are the communication subject,the communication audience,the language style,the communication content and the communication effect.Finally,this paper summarized the three problems:lack of talents,originality and cultural value,then presents the solutions as well.
