Yu Chang was a scholar of the Wan School in the late Qing Dynasty.He wrote a lot of books in his life.In addition to the thirteen classics,there are four kinds of books:Zhou Shu,Da Dai Li Ji,Guo Yu and Origin of Chinese Characters.This book is in the form of reading notes,with 1583 entries.The existing research is only around the part of the book,and from the exegetical point of view,the lack of new research angle and the book as a whole.From the angle of collation,combining with the theory of philology such as exegetics,this paper analyzes and summarizes the collation contents,collation methods,collation gains and losses as well as Yu Chang's collation thought embodied in Xiangcao Jiao Shu.The article is divided into six parts.The Introduction introduces Yu Chang's life and the research background of his collation of herbs.This paper sorts out the research situation of Xiangcao Jiao Shu,summarizes the significance of the research,and puts forward the research methodsThe first and second chapters are the collation content research of Xiangcao Jiao Shu.The collating content is divided into three parts.The first part is the collation of words and sentences,which is analyzed from four aspects such as collating the wrong text,collating the derived text,collating the unwritten text and collating the inverted text.The second part is the collation of the text.The third part is about other collations,including the supplement of the historical facts,the appellation of names,the system of names and rites,the astronomical calendar,the geographical customs and so on.The third chapter is the collation method research of Xiangcao Jiao Shu Combining collation with exegetical method,the analysis is carried out from four angles.First,the collation is carried out by using the form-exegetical method,including the changes of characters,the tracing of the origin of the radicals.The second method includes such aspects as transliteration,phonetic change in ancient and modern times,dialect reference.Third,it uses grammar,syntax and rules of writing to collate,including the use of language,syntactic structure,writing habits.The fourth is the collation of text contrast,such as Ben Jiao,Dui Jiao,Ta Jiao,Li Jiao.The fourth chapter is the collation of Xiangcao Jiao Shu.Its collation features are citing a wide range,and has seen western learning.He had scholarly prudence and good new interpretation.He used sharp words and dared to judge.The error of the collation lies in the improper use of some collation methods.The Conclusion summarizes the collation thought and reading experience of Yu Chang in his collation of herbs,and makes a reasonable judgment on his academic achievements.Tossing out a brick to get a jade gem.Look forward to more researches.
