Health issues have always been a topic of concern. In recent years, with the development of society, the degree of aging in China has been increasing, and the health problems of the elderly have become more prominent.Urbanization has accelerated the flow of the elderly population, and the number of urban elderly population has increased, with a huge demand for health information. The awareness, attitude and behavior of health information have become important indicators for measuring the health level of the elderly in urban areas. It is especially important to have good health information literacy.Studying the health information literacy of the elderly in the city is conducive to improving the individual's ability to seek, discern, understand and apply health information. At the same time,it is of great significance to reduce the burden on families, alleviate social pressure, and achieve active ageing. The thesis takes urban seniors over 60 years old as the research object, and uses a combination of questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews to integrate multidisciplinary content such as communication, psychology, sociology, public health and preventive medicine, etc.Survey the current status, influencing factors, and promotion strategies and analyze based on the survey results. The thesis is divided into five parts: the introduction explains the research background and research significance of the thesis, and defines the concepts of urban elderly and health information literacy.Through the review of relevant literature at home and abroad, the research directions and problems of health information literacy in China are found. In the context of integrating multi-disciplinary knowledge, the urban elderly health information literacy was investigated, and the survey results were analyzed with spss.23 statistical software;the first chapter is a detailed description of the research objects and research content. It mainly includes the selection of research objects, the division of the research content and the quality analysis of the questionnaire. The second chapter is the result analysis of the questionnaire content. It mainly includes analysis of demographic content, analysis of health information search, analysis of three dimensions of health information literacy, and analysis of three-dimensional content of health information literacy. The third chapter analyzes the problems of the health information literacy of theelderly in the city.It mainly includes the analysis of the status quo of the health information literacy of the elderly in the city, the analysis of the reasons affecting the health information literacy of the elderly in the city, and the analysis of the necessity of improving the health literacy of the elderly in the city.Provide reference and experience for improving the health information literacy of the urban elderly in many aspects. The study found that the health information literacy of the elderly in China's cities needs to be improved.First,in the context of diversified media access channels for the elderly in the city, the health information contact of the elderly is more inclined to interpersonal communication, and access to health information through the mass media channels is limited. However, there is a conflict between the inherent health knowledge reserve and health information cognition, which leads to the lack of application scenarios and discriminative power in the use of health information in urban elderly people.Secondly, there are various factors affecting the health information literacy of the urban elderly.Differences in urban elderly groups, media's "stereotyped" impressions, lack of social support, and dysfunctional transformation of the elderly's own roles are the main factors affecting the health information literacy of urban elderly.Improving the health information literacy of the elderly in the city is conducive to the improvement of the elderly's own health and the establishment of a more scientific outlook on health. At the same time,it can reduce the burden on families and promote the harmonious development of society. Finally,in the face of this situation,we need to find more effective ways to improve the health information literacy of the elderly in the city. The government's top-level design and effective social support,community-provided health protection and media-based health education, harmonious intergenerational relationships between families, and the elderly's own efforts are effective ways to improve urban health information literacy.
