Background:With the advent of the information age,the demand for high-level talents is getting higher and higher,and more and more attention is paid to information literacy.College students should have certain information literacy in order to adapt to the development of society.In recent years,many studies have been carried out on information literacy in our country.There are few researches on information literacy in professional characteristic universities,and few in-depth researches on information literacy in medical universities.Most of them are aimed at the medical students themselves or the health literacy,so this research has a certain research significance.Objective:To understand the status quo of information literacy of medical college students in different dimensions;To understand the relationship between different schools,gender,grade,English level,major category,student origin,whether or not to choose information literacy courses and information literacy;The problems and influencing factors of information literacy of medical college students are analyzed.Countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to improve the information literacy ability of medical college students.Method:This paper uses quantitative(questionnaire survey)and qualitative(in-depth interview)methods to study the current situation,existing problems and influencing factors of information literacy of college students in medical colleges.Firstly,the literature research method,questionnaire survey method and statistical analysis method are used to analyze the current situation of 1,979 questionnaire data.Secondly,the interview survey method is used to conduct in-depth interviews with 27 students and 9 teachers.To understand the current problems and influencing factors of information literacy of college students in medical colleges,and draw conclusions based on the scientific analysis of interview records by using the three-level coding of grounded theory,so as to put forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions for the improvement of information literacy ability of college students in medical colleges.Results:At present,the information literacy level of medical college students is in the middle level.The main problems are insufficient information awareness,insufficient information knowledge reserve,uneven information ability,lack of information moral understanding,and obvious differentiation among different grades and majors.The main factors affecting the information literacy level of medical college students are the backward information environment of the school and the unreasonable curriculum.The information literacy level of teachers is not high,and they do not give full play to the guiding role;Students’ own cognitive ability is insufficient,personal will power is insufficient.Conclusions:According to the current situation and existing problems of information literacy of college students in medical colleges and universities,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen information literacy education,improve the information environment,enhance the level of teachers’ information literacy,give full play to teachers’ guiding role,give full play to individual subjective initiative,enhance the will to information,and establish the right mentality.In order to provide reference and thinking for medical college students to improve the ability of information literacy. |
