Analysis On The Application Of Field Study In Journalism Realm's Non-fiction

In recent years,the term “non-fiction” has become a hot word in the domestic literary world and the press.In 2014,Southern People Weekly magazine launched the“non-fiction” writing column.“Non-fiction writing” gradually entered the field of news practice,which had an important impact on current news practice.For the journalism realm's non-fictional writing,although it still emphasizes the power of words,the focus of its practice has shifted from “writing” to “reporting” and“interviewing”,that is,how to obtain the raw materials of the story through various means become more important than before.The application of observation and interview methods which in the anthropological field called “field study” can help non-fiction writers obtain first-hand information of specific groups and communities,which often go far beyond traditional news interviews in terms of comprehensiveness and wholeness.So,for the journalism realm's non-fictional writing which put more attention on excavating the meaning behind news stories,the extensive reference to anthropological research methods is one of the effective ways to improve the writing level and writing quality.This paper takes the field study and the journalism realm's non-fictional writing as the research object,takes the non-fictional work " The Bride Brought from Burma " as well as some other representative non-fictional works as an example,uses the case study method,analyzes the field study's application in the journalism realm's non-fictional writing,including the function,Methods of operation and problems arising from the practice process.This paper expounds the application of anthropological field study in non-fictional writing from the following aspects.First,the field study expands the expression space of the traditional news,which reconstructs the relationship between the interviewer and the interviewee,makes theinformation collection more comprehensive and reliable,and reminds the news writer to pay attention to the minority group,avoid the elitist tendency,and make up the blind spot of the traditional news narration.Second,from the investigation level of field study,combined with work “The Bride Brought from Burma” and practice,from the way into the scene and the main methods of field investigation-participation in observation and in-depth interview method two aspects of the practice and application of fieldwork in non-fictional writing.Third,combining with the problems encountered in the course of practice,this paper probes into the objectivity deviation of news report and the problem of news ethics faced by Application of Field Study in Non-fiction News Writing.
