The Collective Memory Construction Of Memorial Reports Of "5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake"

Since 2009,the media has published annually commemorative reports on the Wenchuan earthquake every year,paying attention to the production and life of the people in the disaster areas and the commemorative activities of all walks of life.It has awakened the memory of the disaster ten years ago from different angles and tried to reconstruct the collective memory of Wenchuan earthquake.Among them,Sichuan Daily and People's Daily paid great attention to the Wenchuan earthquake.The two newspapers,as authoritative party newspapers,largely represented the official position in the construction of the Wenchuan earthquake collective memory.Taking the commemorative reports of the Wenchuan earthquake published by Sichuan Daily and People's Daily in May of each year from 2009 to 2018 as a sample,this paper studies the construction of the collective memory of the Wenchuan earthquake by using the content analysis method and the construction theory of collective memory.First of all,this paper analyzes the importance of Wenchuan earthquake commemorative reports in Sichuan Daily and People's Daily by counting the number and layout of Wenchuan earthquake commemorative reports,and discusses the construction of collective memory of Wenchuan earthquake in two newspapers.Secondly,the paper compares and analyzes the construction strategies of Sichuan Daily and People's Daily on the theme and subject of commemorative reports,and discusses how the two newspapers constructed and constructed what kind of collective memory of Wenchuan earthquake from the content and form.On the other hand,from the commemorative context,memory sites,commemorative ceremonies,commemorative works and other important factors affecting collective memory,the paper further observes the performance of the two newspapers in the formation,maintenance and dissemination of collective memory.Finally,the purpose and significance behind the construction behavior are discussed from the perspectives of national identity and political identity.It is found that the current situation and self-interest are important factors that influence the construction of collective memory of Wenchuan earthquake by Sichuan Daily and People's Daily.Both newspapers use selective presentation of content to construct collective memory of Wenchuan Earthquake,but the specific construction strategies are different.The construction strategy of People's Daily is more macroscopic,while the choice of Sichuan Daily is more specific.The ultimate goal of the two newspapers is the same.Sichuan Daily and People's Daily are committed to incorporating the Wenchuan Earthquake into the Party's achievements,highlighting the leadership role of the Party and the government in the collective memory of the Wenchuan Earthquake.Sichuan Daily and People's Daily and constructed the core memory of the Wenchuan Earthquake: under the leadership of the Party and the government,the people of the whole country are united in overcoming difficulties and achieving the complete reconstruction work after the disaster.Facing victory,Wenchuan earthquake-stricken areas have been reborn.
