The New Media Construction Of The Collective Memory About The Reports On The Tenth Anniversary Of Wenchuan Earthquake

Collective memory is an important reason for forming group identity and strengthening the cohesion.It is a constructive process,based on the current,in which media plays a significant role in constructing collective memory.With the development of the technology of media transmission,the way of media memorizing has changed.Especially in this new media age,the subject,the way,and the content of constructing are also transforming.Therefore,it is necessary to study the collective memory of important historical events.This study takes the new media report on the 10^thh anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake as the object of this study,then,analyzes and reflects on the strategies for new media on constructing the collective memory.Wenchuan earthquake was one of the most severe nature disasters happened since the founding of the people's Republic of China.Year of 2018 was the tenth anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake.By means of content analysis and text analysis,this study gathers the special report of Sina,part of discourse on Weibo,part of discourse on Wechat's official accounts about the“10th anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake”as the object and seeks reference for future new media's construction of collective memory on earthquake.The paper holds that new media has rich reports on the 10^th anniversary of Wenchuan earthquake which get abundant responses from the public.Through the analysis,it is found that reports focus on traumatic memory,reborn memory,and national spirit.Official media leads the agenda's setting of the collective memory.New media utilizes multi-agent narrative discourse,multi-form discourse,interactive participation model,and emotional style of discourse to construct.During the construction,problems like narrowing content,emotional report,narrow report,to some extent,hinder the healthy reconstruction of the collective memory of Wenchuan earthquake.Based on the study above,this study holds that to make the public look back right on the history,remember the disaster,reshape the national spirit,condense the strength of Chinese nation and set up the national image,the new media should broaden the contents of reports,increase reports on objective and insightful content,so as to fully play the important role of new media during the big events'construction process.
