China's non-state-owned museums are an important part of Museum undertakings and play a unique role in cultural construction.Especially since the reform and opening up,along with the rise of private collections and the growth of private enterprises,non-state museums have gradually emerged, which has changed the situation that public museums dominate the world.Compared with the extensive and extensive state-owned museums, the advantages of non-state-owned museums lie in specialization and refinement, preserving the historical and cultural memory of different regions, and showing increasingly remarkable unique charm in cultural dissemination and popularization. This paper takes the survival status of private museums in Hohhot as the research object, and takes the survival status of private museums as the theme.Through on-the-spot visits and interviews, using theoretical research and policy analysis methods,15 private museums in Hohhot are investigated and studied. On the one hand, the non-state-owned museums in Hohhot are rooted in the deep cultural soil of Inner Mongolia grassland culture, and have the advantages of outstanding local characteristics and distinct national cultural haracteristics;on the other hand, they are also facing outstanding problems, including the difficulties in landing relevant supporting policies, shortage of funds, irregular management, lack of professionals, difficult to guarantee the quality of collection and inadequate social functions. There are some common problems in domestic non-state museums, such as limited number of visitors, single propaganda means and outdated exhibition methods. There are also some practical problems that need to be solved urgently, such as unclear self-orientation and lack of development of creative products. The survival status of most non-state museums is worrying.Faced with the outstanding problems existing in the non-state museums in Hohhot, this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures based on the domestic literature on relevant issues, the successful experience of operation and management of non-state museums at home and abroad, and the relevant policies of the state and local governments to encourage and support non-state museums. The non-state-owned museums in Hohhot should base themselves on their own advantages, make full use of existing preferential policies, publicize themselves and develop themselves through cooperation with large museums, and gradually realize the scientific and standardized operation and management;conform to the development trend of regional economy and culture, find their own orientation, base themselves on grassland culture and local culture, and establish the cultural brand of non-state-owned museums.Relying on and integrating into the community, based on the community to expand their influence.Through the integration of non-state-owned Museum resources, the cluster effect will be formed and the influence will be expanded.Carry out multi-channel efforts such as marketing of creative products to improve their own survival and development problems.
