In recent years, with the VR(Virtual Reality)getting periodical breakthrough and development,it has been widely applied into the field of neuroscience, medicine, psychology, pedagogy, and game as well as journalism communication. In the field of journalism, the VR technology is remodeling the current media form and changing the paradigm of traditional news concept. From 2015,BBC,CNN,CCTV,the Xinhua News Agency and other domestic and overseas media all tries the VR field in succession. With the research paradigm of brain-computer interface technology combined the communication and cognitive neuroscience, the thesis adopts the research methods like EEG experiments,questionnaires,in-depth interviews to conduct the parallel quantitative and qualitative research.Through evaluating the two groups' attention, relaxation and specific EEG signals,it discusses the users' specific experience differences in different media environments and clarifies their stimulation and response for VR news. Therefore, with the research results are used in specific practice of VR news business,it will provide useful inspiration for the development of this field. From the current research on the trends of VR news in China, this thesis takes user experience, which is rarely involved in domestic research,as the research objective, and abandons the research methods like the single questionnaire, case study.Based on specific experience of VR news including immersion, presence, empathy effect, the thesis changes the thinking of “audience” and from the users' perspective, adopts brain-computer interface technology to explore the perceptual impact of the new medium VR on users.First of all, through the experiment, comparing to the attention, relaxation level and real-time EEG of the two groups(VR newsgroup and web newsgroup),it is found that the VR newsgroup has a higher level of attention. In addition, the relationship between the degree of attention and time is not necessarily inversely proportional. On the contrary, with the time flying, there is a distraction in the web newsgroup. However, with the influence of sensory stimulation, the relaxation of VR news group fluctuated greatly, showing a great state of excitement. In the meantime, the mental state of the web newsgroup was quite stable.Secondly, comparing to the EEG data of the two groups,it was found that the brain thinking of the VR news group was more active. Finally,in the investigation of on-site questionnaire and in-depth interview,it is found that virtual reality technology has created a highly immersed news scene for news users. Moreover,it mobilized users' visual, auditory and other sensory organs, and brought a strong empathy effect.According to the research mentioned above,it draws the conclusion as follows: in the time of rare attention, compared with the current other media,VR news can change the way of news experience with the support of technology to capture the attention of users. However,at present,VR news is still in a preliminary stage of development.Although it can bring immersive experience to users,it can also be seen see that the development of technology is not perfect enough and the subject matter is too limited. In the future,VR news should also have the improvement in technology, material selection and contents so that it will provide users with the more comprehensive experience.
