Study On People's Daily's Reports On Kazakhstan(1992-2017)

This thesis takes the news report from People's Daily on Kazakhstan as the research object,and uses the content analysis method commonly used in journalism,and gathered the full sample of reports from 1992 to 2017.On the basis of reading the text,a feasible coding table is established by the author.Through the statistical analysis of the length,layout,source and genre of the report,the characteristics and routine of the report are discussed.This paper also used textual analysis to sort out the Sino-Kazakhstan relations presented by the newspaper,to understand the bilateral relationship changes reported under the relationship between China and Kazakhstan.With the context of global communication,the author try to explore the basic framework and communication characteristics of China's external reports.The study found that the length,layout,and reporting style and style of the People's Daily's Kazakhstan-related reports were influenced by the bilateral relations between China and Kazakhstan,and belongs to the regular international news reporting framework.The topic is based on political issues,taking into account the economic,social,cultural and military,objectively and realistically presenting the changes in Kazakhstan and the progress of Sino-Kazakhstan relations over the past 25 years.In the age of global communication,the People's Daily has taken into account the role of both internal and external propaganda.There are three main functions of external reporting on the Kazakhstan report.First is to actively set the agenda,by highlighting Important issues such as “Shanghai Cooperation Organization” and the“One Belt and One Road” to reflect the hotspots of Sino-Kazakhstan relations,affecting the audiences and the international community;Second,to guide the public opinion through the report,showing China's diplomatic attitude of "harmony is precious" and for creating a good international public opinion the all-round cooperation and the western strategy between China and Kazakhstan.Third is to provide a basis for the Chinese official media to intervene in the international communication pattern by mastering the authoritative source,which is conducive to enhancing the communication and influence of China's foreign reports.
