With the progress of science and technology and the development of the society,university libraries are also experiencing a new transformation and upgrading,digital resources construction and information services are also facing more problems and challenges.After the construction of electronic periodicals becomes stable day by day,e-books,especially academic e-books in foreign languages,have become a new hot point of construction.However,the unit price of foreign e-books is very high and construction funds are very tight,so readers' needs is rarely met.In order to balance this contradiction,formulate a more reasonable purchase plan,and improve the utilization level of existing collections,we need to overall analyze the utilization of purchased books from various angles.On the basis of analysis,to provide advice and reference for future construction and utilization.This paper takes this as the starting point,selects the domestic representative 211 university library has purchased the foreign language academic e-book database as the research object to carry out the empirical investigation.And based on the obtained data for analysis and comprehensive utilization research.Based on a comprehensive combing of domestic and foreign research status and related theories as well as research methods,first,the author did an overall research for all foreign academic e-book database's use condition in the past three years.Four of the main databases were selected for in-depth analysis to assess the status of their utilization.Secondly,from the external point of view,using network research from the basic configuration,interface localization,retrieval function,content presentation,citation function of five aspects to compare and study the foreign e-book platform use experience.Then,from an internal point of view,mainly aimed at the characteristics of users,information literacy,use behavior and habits,utilization needs four aspects of the use of teachers and students to carry out a questionnaire survey.This paper analyzes the factors that affect the level of e-book use and the different needs of different groups by using SPSS tools.In the end,based on the previous research conclusions,from the three aspects of resource security,secondary development and reader service to provide the relevant suggestions and ideas on how to improve the library academic e-book resources use level of foreign language.In order to provide reference for the resources construction and information service work of the university library and the similar colleges and universities.
