With the advent of the digital information age,it is generally accepted by the industry that the digital media will be better than the traditional media in the competition.It is manifest from the "2015 annual white paper on digital reading" that Chinese digital reading users have reached 296 million in 2015.Nearly 60%of those users have their daily digital reading.Another thing that can be found from the white paper is that e-book reading is more frequently chose than the paper reading.In February this year,CEO of News Corp.from its parent company Harper Collins Robert Thomson expects that the proportion of e-book sales in the book business will continue to rise.Firstly,in the 1990's,e-books as electronic resources,are included in the construction of Library Collection.In this rapid development of e-books market,libraries have spent much money on e-book,or manufacture it in order to increase resources.E-book has been one of important information resources,and more and more readers are favor of it.In order to meet the diverse needs of users,academic libraries are actively studying the management,usage and service models of e-books.Nowadays,many universities at home and abroad have or are building their own e-book service platform.How about the utilization of these platforms?Which kind of resources and services should be provided?Are these platforms meet the needs of users?Is there any other function need to be improved?Our Universities are facing these problems at present.In addition,academic libraries should also put attention on how to manage e-books,in order to improve e-book service benefits in academic libraries.This study mainly discusses the construction situation of the "985 Project"university library electronic resources,the utilization of e-books and the e-book-service model which library carried out,aiming at the problems deeply existed in e-book services in academic libraries.Then,proposed the construction system of the e-book service management model,and on this basis,set up e-book service management platform.This paper is divided into six chapters.The main contents are:Chapter1,Introduction.The part of this paper is the fundamental part which introduces the research background,research purpose and significance,research methods and innovation points.Chapter2,Analysis of the basic theory and Characteristics,including the impact of e-books on the library,the relevant theory about e-book management,is about e-books and the status at home and abroad,which is the basis for the following study to pave the way.Chapter3 is about making an investigation and analysis on e-book management and services.This part mainly expounds the analysis of the status quo of e-book collection resources in university libraries;then chose ten various e-book databases to conduct contrast and analysis;investigate and analyze users' utilization and demand of e-books in academic libraries.Beyond that,it also do a case analysis of e-book service platform in "985 Project" university libraries.Chapter4,Model building of e-books-management-service platform of academic libraries.Chapter5,Function designing of e-books-management-service platform.Management module including library management,organization management,user management,release management;Service module including my bookshelf,search,classification,recommendation and selection etc.Chapter6,Summary of this paper,including its deficiencies,and prospects of this research.
