As a highly complicated, diversified and integrated man-machine system,Management Information System has become one of management tools popular among numerous enterprises, because it is essentially related to multiple disciplines such as management science, economics, statistics and computer science.Owing to their shortage of funds and poor information infrastructures and so on,many Chinese software enterprises' application of management information isn't ideal. To strengthen international competitiveness of enterprises, make software process information-based,standardize work procedures, lower costs, increase work efficiency, enlarge scale, enhance capabilities of project development and normalize management of customer information,it has become necessary for more and more software enterprises to develop a management information system suitable for their needs. The writing of this paper is mainly divided into four phases.During literature review, related literature is consulted to study development of information management system in software enterprises home and abroad according to characteristics of domestic software enterprises and current situation of their management,in order to find out existing problems and potential deficiencies in management of software enterprises.Chinese software enterprises' problems in applying management information system are illustrated and analyzed from different perspectives. In light of these problems, considerations that shall be taken into account by software enterprises in choosing an appropriate management information system are put forward.Subsequently, systematic solutions are proposed to handle Chinese software enterprises' weaknesses in information management.During requirement analysis, documents necessary for a business management information system and accommodating needs of Chinese software enterprises are sorted out.Specifically, the requirement analysis covers analyzing user roles that shall be played by users and participants of a business management information system, subsystems necessary for the entire business management information system and functions required by each subsystem for meeting the needs for running and managing software businesses.Meanwhile,a requirement analysis is performed on operating environment of a server and a client in a system.Besides, systems to be developed are analyzed from the perspective of their business and operation performances.During practical design, the entire business information management system is designed based on completed requirement analysis, including designing overall architecture, logical architecture and development architecture. In the meantime, key technologies necessary for meeting business needs of a system, including workflow design, local cache, database monitoring and database monitoring and failover, are designed.Modules are designed and described with UML,involving sequence diagrams, collaboration diagrams and class diagrams. All modules of subsystems are designed by integrating words with pictures. To design a database, data sheet structure of the business management system is determined according to requirement analysis and design methods of modules.Based on the requirement analysis, security and reliability programs applicable to system requirements are developed.A range of tests concerning permissions, functions and security are carried out for developed items,to make sure all these items meet pertinent requirements. At last,a business management information system is developed for integrating information of a software enterprise about its customers, projects, operation, maintenance and performance management. It may be used for improving information resource management and providing effective support for high-level decision making in software enterprises.
