Since 2015,idol-developing programs have become popular programs.Under commercial operation,it has been welcomed by the public with its visual and consumer characteristics through TV and online media platforms.Due to the large number of copies of the program,its content has a tendency to be vulgar,attracting many questions,criticisms and scrutiny.This thesis takes the theoretical care of idol-cultivating programs from the perspective of mass culture.It mainly analyzes and examines the following four parts: The first chapter mainly introduces the overview of idol-developing programs,first discusses and defines that the idol-developing program is a new type of "making a star" program,through the comprehensive intensive training of music,physical form,performance,using the trainee system as a mode to select and train idol groups,and recording and showing its growth process;The second chapter analyzes the idol-cultivation program from the perspective of cultural carrier,cultural origin,socio-cultural context and cultural influence,which it is a realistic carrier of mass culture,originated from the idol industry in Japan and South Korea,promoted and benefited from the social and cultural context to identify the appearance of the idol and the cultivation model,making idol production under the influence of the network and consumer culture;The third chapter discusses the mass cultural representation of idol-developing programs from the three aspects of pleasure,intertextuality and visuality of mass culture.In terms of pleasure orientation,idol-developing programs reflect the characteristics of constructive,devastating and confrontational pleasure;in terms of intertextuality,the idol-developing programs achieve the goal of growth flow by “citing”,“copying” and “derived” various types of texts;in terms of visuality,its characteristics is the symbolic production of media image and the peeping consumption of sensory stimulation;The fourth chapter is the critique of mass culture for idol-developing programs,which thinks that idol is a special commodity,and the idol-developing program is a medium carrier for industrial production of idols.Besides it summarizes and combs the problems of commercial consumption,mass production,lack of idol value,etc.In this sense,the idols develop the media idols of the production of the program for a "cultivation" myth.
